As the parent of a young adult with Down syndrome, Sarah has been a passionate advocate for people with disabilities for more than 20 years through leadership roles in her local school district and in nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities. Inspired by shows like Love on the Spectrum and Down for You, Sarah founded Special Match to bring professional, personalized matchmaking opportunities to her daughter’s community.

In addition to her disability advocacy, Sarah has a long history of community organizing and connecting people — experience that culminated when she was elected to the Portola Valley Town Council in 2020, where she served for four years, including one as Mayor. Earlier in her career, she led multiple e-commerce channels at Williams-Sonoma and worked in consulting.

 

Sarah and her husband have three adult children.
